Twenty-six cases of dengue breeding detected in Jalandhar

The anti-larva cell of the health department on 25th September detected 26 dengue cases in various places of the city during its drive against the vector-borne diseases under Tandarust Punjab Mission.

Separate teams carried out checking in Jyoti Nagar, Kishanpura, Madhuban Colony, Shaheed Babu Labh Singh Colony, Rattan Nagar, Gandhi Camp, Gazigulla and others. The teams visited 531 houses covered the population of 2,026 and checked 184 desert coolers and 606 waste containers.

Members of teams told the residents that the desert coolers, containers could act as a breeding ground for the mosquitoes to spread diseases like dengue, malaria, and others.They said that the drive was aimed at identifying vulnerable places for producing the larva of mosquitoes.
