Patient leaps to death from 6th floor of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in Tiruchirappalli

A 34-year-old patient allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the 6th floor terrace of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital (MGMGH) on 3rd December.
Police said the deceased was hailing from Mudukkupatti locality in the city. He was working in a spinning unit at Coimbatore. The man was undergoing treatment as an in-patient in the super specialty block of MGMGH, attached to the K.A.P. Viswanatham Government Medical College for high fever for the past few days. He jumped from the 6th floor terrace this morning and died on the spot. The reason for his extreme step is under investigation. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
