A joint team of health department personnel and police arrested the owner of an illegal pathology laboratory and seized several bottles of blood, liquor and pistol at Purani Bazar under Jhajha police station area in the district on 27th September.

Sub divisional police officer Bhaskar Ranjan said that the illegal pathology laboratory was busted following specific intelligence input in this regard. He said that the owner of illegal pathology laboratory Roshan Kumar had been arrested from his house where he was running his business in Purani Bazar locality. The accused was also running his illegal blood bank business from his house. Mr Bhaskar said 40 units of blood, one carton of beer, one bottle of foreign liquor, testing kits for malaria, HIV and dengu, one pistol and passbooks of various banks were seized from the spot.

Sources at the health department said that Roshan Kumar was appointed as lab technician on contract under revised national tuberculosis control programme on March 9, 2006. He was posted in Jhajha for the last 13 years.
