Hundreds of poor patients and local residents attended the free health camp organised by Congress party in association with Healthier Hearts Foundation (HHF) , at first Lancer in Hyderabad on 26th September.

Speaking on the occasion, Hyderabad City Congress Committee (HCCC) Minorities Department Chairman Sameer Waliullah said the health camp at First Lancer was the first one in a series of free medical camps were being organised in various slum areas to facilitate poor people undergo various medical tests including ECG, 2D Echo, Blood Tests, Sugar GRBS, BP, etc., at free of cost. He informed that hundreds of people from Syed Nagar, Bhola Nagar and other localities of First Lancer visited the health camp and underwent medical tests. They were also given prescribed medicines at free of cost. General physicians and specialists, including cardiologists, were available in the camp.

TPCC Minorities Department Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail, Youth Congress president Anil Kumar Yadav, Sajid Shareef and other senior leaders of Congress party also visited the camp and participated in distribution of free medicines. They appreciated the initiative taken by Sameer Waliullah and hoped that thousands of poor patients would benefit from the health camps to be organised in future.

Sameer Waliullah alleged that the State Government has completely neglected the health sector which consequently resulted in spread of viral diseases in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He said people living in many slum areas were in the grip of viral fever, Malaria, Typhoid, Dengue and other diseases. Therefore, he said that the Congress party, in collaboration with HHF, decided to conduct free health camps. TPCC Spokesperson Syed Nizamuddin said that the health conditions in the city got deteriorated due to the negligence of State Government. He said that the GHMC’s Monsoon Action Plan miserably failed and fogging and anti-larvae operations were not held in a proper manner.

He said that the Congress party wanted to help the patients directly and therefore, decided to organize the health camps in slum areas. Sameer Waliullah also informed that the next health camps would be organised at Golconda on 28th September and in Rasoolpura on 29th September.
