The Haryana government would not hesitate to invoke ESMA if the doctors go on the proposed three-day strike in support of their demands from tomorrow.
The warning was served by the Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij here today. He said that the state government had made full preparations to deal with the proposed strike by the doctors. He said that the doctors and others associated with health department would not be allowed to play with the health of the ailing people. There has been difference of opinion between the doctors and the government on the issue of strike.
The government seems to have been on front foot after dealing with the recent Sacha Sauda episode. The Health Minister Vij in unflinching words said that no one would be allowed to play with the health of the people and if the doctors go on strike they would be failing to perform their duty to treat the ailing people. Under such circumstances, the government would be compelled to invoke ESMA to continue the essential health services in the state. Meanwhile, Vij criticised the lathi charge on the media persons in Gurugram.
