Geske JB, et al. - This study characterized gender-based variability in a large hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) referral centre population. Among patients with HCM, women versus men had a more advanced age of presentation, more symptoms, worse cardiopulmonary exercise tolerance, and different haemodynamics and worse survival and may require more aggressive diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
