Vitamin D status and the risk of type 2 diabetes: The Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study
Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice Mar 25, 2019
Heath AK, et al. - Via conducting a case-cohort study within the Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study (MCCS), researchers examined the potential link between vitamin D status and type 2 diabetes, as well as the potential role of reverse causality. They included a random sample of 628 participants who developed diabetes and a sex-stratified random sample of the cohort (n=1,884). According to findings, vitamin D status was inversely linked to type 2 diabetes risk in this sample of middle-aged Australians, which did not seem to be explained by reverse causality.
