Ventricular arrhythmia occurrence and compliance in patients treated with the wearable cardioverter defibrillator following percutaneous coronary intervention
Heart, Lung, and Circulation Sep 29, 2017
Barraud J, et al. - This study assessed patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) <30% who underwent myocardial revascularisation with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), to determine ventricular arrhythmia (VA) occurrence rate and compliance with the wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD) during the first 90 days following the intervention. Findings demonstrated a high rate of VA, during the WCD period use after myocardial revascularisation with PCI and, underscored that patient compliance was critical during the WCD period use. Essentially, remote monitoring and patient education were identified as keys to achieve good compliance.
