Use of edge‐to‐edge percutaneous mitral valve repair for severe mitral regurgitation in cardiogenic shock: A multicenter observational experience (MITRA‐SHOCK study)
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Apr 07, 2021
Falasconi G, Melillo F, Pannone L, et al. - This investigation was undertaken among consecutive patients with refractory cardiogenic shock (CS) and concomitant severe mitral regurgitation (MR) managed with MitraClip system, to unveil how short and mid‐term clinical results in patients with CS and severe MR were altered by edge‐to‐edge percutaneous mitral valve repair (PMVR). Primary and secondary endpoints were 30‐day and 6‐month mortality, respectively. Among participants with CS and concomitant severe MR, findings revealed that edge‐to‐edge PMVR was related to good procedural safety as well as success with acceptable short and mid‐term survival rates. In this setting of cases, it could be regarded as a bailout choice.
