Ruzicka M, Leenen FHH, Ramsay T, et al. - In this study, researchers evaluated the contribution of nonadherence to blood pressure-lowering drugs undiscovered by pharmacy refill data, the Morisky scale, and pill count tests by assessing the relationship of directly observed therapy with treatment adherence in individuals with obvious treatment-resistant hypertension. Nonadherence to treatment was prevalent amongst individuals with apparent treatment-resistant hypertension.
