Tarakji KG, et al. - The goal of this research was to define the incidence and extent of venous injuries on a microscopic level after transvenous lead extraction (TLE) and compare it with the incidence of clinically documented events of venous laceration. Findings reported a common incidence of microscopic venous injuries during lead extraction. Data also demonstrated that these injuries were often not recognized clinically.
