Topographical analysis of the choriocapillaris in intermediate age-related macular degeneration
American Journal of Ophthalmology Aug 19, 2018
Borrelli E, et al. - Using swept source-optical coherence tomography angiography (SS-OCTA) imaging, researchers sought to quantitate the regional differences in the choriocapillaris (CC) of patients with intermediate age-related macular degeneration (iAMD). Increased CC flow impairment was demonstrated by intermediate AMD eyes, which co-localizes to the area of CC beneath and immediately surrounding drusen. Findings did not suggest the significant association of the presence of iAMD with any of the CC variables; as seen in multiple regression analysis. On the contrary, a significant correlation of the drusen region area with CC alterations was seen.
