Dailey HL, et al. - In this retrospective review with data collection for logistic regression and survival analysis, authors ascertained the factors related to nonunion of adult tibial fractures. The strong predictors of compromised fracture healing were injury characteristics including fracture morphology and severity of soft tissue injury. They also noted an influence of age on nonunion risk in an unexpected way, with highest rates in the middle decades of adulthood.
