The prognostic significance of the advanced lung cancer inflammation index in patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer: A retrospective study
BMC Cancer Mar 23, 2019
Shibutani M, et al. - Researchers evaluated if the advanced lung cancer inflammation index (ALI) has prognostic ability for unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer by retrospectively reviewing a database of 159 patients who had combination chemotherapy for unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer. ALI contains indices related to inflammation as well as body mass index (BMI), which was reported to correlate with sarcopenic status. They observed a significantly worse overall survival rate in the low-ALI group vs the high-ALI group, indicating the prognostic value of the ALI in patients with unresectable metastatic colorectal cancer as well as in patients with lung cancer.
