The preablation monocyte/ high density lipoprotein ratio predicts the late recurrence of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation after radiofrequency ablation
BMC Cardiovascular Disorders Sep 13, 2020
Chen SA, Zhang MM, Zheng M, et al. - Whether monocyte/high-density lipoprotein ratio (MHR) has worth in predicting the late recurrence of atrial fibrillation (AF) following radiofrequency ablation, was investigated in this retrospective analysis. This study involved patients with paroxysmal AF who had received radiofrequency catheter ablation. A mean follow up of 25.1 ± 12.0 months was performed. Independent risk factors, revealed in multivariate logistic regression analysis, predicting the recurrence of AF post-radiofrequency ablation were: the preablation MHR and left atrial diameter (LAD). Findings showed that an increased risk of the postoperative recurrence of AF was observed in relation to a raised preablation MHR. In addition, the late recurrence of paroxysmal AF post-radiofrequency ablation was independently predicted by the MHR, with the same predictive value as LAD.
