The initial US experience with the Tempo active fixation temporary pacing lead in structural heart interventions
Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions Sep 12, 2019
Nazif TM, Chen S, Codner P, et al. - Researchers assessed the safety as well as the effectiveness of temporary cardiac pacing with the Tempo Temporary Pacing Lead in this multicenter retrospective investigation of the initial US experience. They obtained data from 269 consecutive structural heart procedures. Successful placement of the Tempo lead in the right ventricle was accomplished. This lead achieved pacing in 264 of 269 patients (98.1%). Loss of pace capture was observed in 2 patients (0.8%). Procedural mean pace capture threshold was reported to be 0.7 ± 0.8 mA. Absence of clinically significant perforations, pericardial effusions, or sustained device-associated arrhythmias was reported. Findings revealed the safety as well as the efficacy of the Tempo lead for temporary cardiac pacing for structural heart procedures. It not only guarantees stable peri and postprocedural pacing but also permits mobilization of patients who need temporary pacing leads.
