The impact of global left ventricular afterload on left ventricular reverse remodeling after aortic valve replacement
Journal of Cardiac Surgery Aug 17, 2017
Ito H, et al. – Here the authors presented the hypothesis that the global left ventricular (LV) afterload, including valvular and arterial impedance, could influence LV reverse remodeling after aortic valve replacement (AVR). Investigations displayed that the postoperative valvuloarterial impedance (Zva) was significantly associated with LV mass regression after AVR. Hence, maintaining low global LV afterload following AVR might enhance LV reverse remodeling.
