The efficacy of tranexamic acid in total hip arthroplasty: A network meta-analysis
Journal of Arthroplasty Jul 01, 2018
Fillingham YA, et al. - Authors assessed the effectiveness of tranexamic acid (TXA) in primary total hip arthroplasty (THA) to support the combined clinical practice guidelines of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Hip Society, Knee Society, and American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine on the use of TXA in primary total joint arthroplasty. The use of TXA to reduce blood loss and risk of transfusion following primary THA was supported by a strong evidence. Clearly superior blood sparing properties were not provided by any specific routes of administration, dosage, dosing regimen, or time of administration.
