The efficacy and safety of Retcam in detecting neonatal retinal hemorrhages
BMC Ophthalmology Aug 24, 2018
Chen F, et al. - In healthy newborns, researchers gauged the ability to characterize neonatal retinal hemorrhage (RH) using RetCam and the systemic impacts during the procedure. In this prospective study, they enrolled 68 healthy newborns aged 2 to 4 days old. A detailed characterization of RH in healthy newborns, mostly present in Zone II with grade II and III, could be done with RetCam. During the process, systemic effects are mild and can be revolved spontaneously. In Phase 2 (P2), the OS was reduced to 83% and recovered to 96% in Phase 4 (P4).
