The effects of beta-blocker use on cancer prognosis: A meta-analysis based on 319,006 patients
OncoTargets and Therapy Aug 28, 2018
Na Z, et al. - Via this meta-analysis of 36 studies involving 319,006 patients, researchers examined the link between beta-blocker use and cancer prognosis. They also performed subgroup analyses by stratifying ethnicity, duration of drug use, cancer stage, sample size, beta-blocker type, chronological order of drug use, and different types of cancers. Generally, except for cancer-specific survival (CSS), no link was found between beta-blocker use and cancer prognosis in all population groups examined. A significant association of beta-blocker use with better CSS was reported. Main results were generally supported by subgroup analysis.
