The clinical outcomes of patients who developed typical atrial flutter on class 1c anti arrhythmic medications treated with hybrid approach
Clinical Cardiology May 10, 2019
Grossman L, et al. - Researchers evaluated the efficacy of a hybrid approach (ablation of the cavo-tricuspid isthmus [CTI] and continuation Ic medical treatment to prevent recurrence of atrial fibrillation [AF]) for treating patients who developed atrial flutter secondary to treatment with class Ic anti-arrhythmic drugs for AF (Ic flutter). Participants were 204 consecutive patients who had ablation for typical AFL at a tertiary medical center between 2010 and 2016. According to findings, treatment with the hybrid approach resulted in a relatively high rate of AF recurrence during the first year post-CTI ablation. In this selected populace, considering an alternative approach was recommended.
