The association between sarcopenia and fracture in middle-aged and elderly people: A systematic review and meta-analysis of cohort studies
Injury Feb 28, 2020
Ma JX, et al. - Researchers intended to determine if there is a connection between sarcopenia and fracture incidence in middle-aged and elderly people through this systematic review and meta-analysis. For this investigation, they searched Web of Science, PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library. The research included a total of 5 cohort studies that involved 27,990 participants. A significant association was found between sarcopenia and fracture in middle-aged and elderly people. More homogeneous studies, however, are required to fully clarify the link between sarcopenia and fracture.
