Walters ST, et al. - Authors analyzed in this prospective cohort study to assess the results including early mortality after surgical rib fixation using a locking plate system as part of a newly introduced chest trauma pathway. On the basis of The primary outcome measure was 30-day mortality with secondary outcomes of primary outcome measures like hospital length of stay and intensive care unit length of stay, they observed reduced mortality in cases who underwent rib stabilization and similar patient-reported measures displaying no sign of deleterious longer-term effects of rib stabilization.
