Pasha S, et al. - Seventy-six right thoracic adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) individuals with a 2-year follow-up were retrospectively involved in order to ascertain the difference in surgical decision making and the risk of suboptimal outcomes in each subtype according to expert's classification. Following the preoperative 3D classification of the AIS persons, it was explicated that in each of the five subtypes the upper and lower instrumented vertebrae selection has a distinct influence on the surgical outcomes. Thus, after a posterior spinal surgery in the right thoracic AIS, the proposed 3D classification has the capability for risk stratification.
