Fan W, et al. - The authors intended to examine eyes with age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in order to gauge the association between the subfoveal choroidal thickness (SCT) and development of macular atrophy (MA). In contrast with eyes without MA, eyes with AMD and MA displayed less SCT. Furthermore, a higher risk of MA within 18 months was discovered in eyes with less baseline SCT.
