Studying morbidity and predicting mortality in patients with blunt chest trauma using a novel clinical score

Manay P, et al. – The clinicians designed this research to investigate morbidity and predictors of mortality in blunt chest trauma patients admitted to their hospital. They identified the modifiable factors affecting morbidity and mortality. Mild to moderate chest injury because of blunt trauma was difficult to diagnose. The restoration of respiratory physiology had not only significant implications on recovery from chest injury but also all other injuries. It was the sincere belief that the score they had formulated would help in reducing mortality and morbidity after further trials.
