Short- and long-term mortality and stroke risk after transcatheter aortic valve implantation
The American Journal of Cardiology Oct 17, 2017
Jakobsen L, et al. - This study intended to gain a better insight into the short- and long-term mortality and stroke risk post-transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). Findings demonstrated that those who underwent TAVI had stroke risk and mortality, at 90 days post-implantation, comparable to that seen in the general population. In addition, the patient risk profiles have remained largely unchanged over time, however, data indicated substantial improvement in outcomes, including lower short- and long-term mortality.
