Serum apelin predicts spontaneous reperfusion of infarct-related artery in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction
Coronary Artery Disease Feb 07, 2019
Ying Z, et al. - Researchers assessed the correlation of serum apelin with spontaneous reperfusion (SR) of the infarct-related coronary artery in ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. They attained blood samples of 280 consecutive patients with STEMI before the primary percutaneous coronary intervention upon admission. They observed better cardiac systolic function and improved diastolic function among patients with SR. Increased serum apelin level was identified to be an independent predictor for SR in STEMI patients.
