Right ventricular dysfunction severity in peripartum cardiomyopathy and early and late adverse outcomes: A cohort study
Journal of Cardiac Failure Aug 29, 2017
Peters A, et al. – A retrospective analysis was performed to assess the differential impact of severity of left or right ventricular dysfunction at peripartum cardiomyopathy (PPCM) diagnosis on early versus late adverse outcomes. Findings demonstrated an association of initial moderate–to–severe right ventricular dysfunction (RVD) with overall and early outcomes in PPCM, independent of left ventricular (LV) dysfunction. Nearly a third of outcomes occurred years after PPCM diagnosis. Late outcomes were neither related to initial severe LV nor RV dysfunction.
