Reliable differentiation of Pneumocystis pneumonia from Pneumocystis colonization by quantification of major surface glycoprotein gene using real-time polymerase chain reaction
Mycoses Sep 29, 2017
Rudramurthy SM, et al. - This trial strived to quantify the fungal burden using major surface glycoprotein (MSG) gene-based real-time PCR for the differentiation between pneumonia due to Pneumocystis jirovecii and ÂcolonizationÂ. It was concluded that MSG-gene based qPCR was a robust instrument for the reliable differentiation of Pneumocystis pneumonia from colonization.
