Relation of orthostatic hypotension with new-onset atrial fibrillation (from the Framingham Heart Study)
The American Journal of Cardiology Dec 17, 2017
Ko D, et al. - This study was designed to assess the impact of adjusting for hypertension and other cardiovascular risk factors on the already established link between orthostatic hypotension (OH) and increased risk of atrial fibrillation (AF). Findings demonstrated that after adjustment for systolic blood pressure (BP), diastolic BP, and hypertension treatment, a significant association of OH and orthostatic decline in mean arterial pressure with increased risk of incident AF was observed in a longitudinal community-based sample.
