Relation of adiponectin to cardiovascular events and mortality in patients with acute coronary syndrome
The American Journal of Cardiology Nov 05, 2020
Nomura H, Arashi H, Yamaguchi J, et al. - Researchers sought to ascertain the correlation between serum adiponectin levels and cardiovascular events, particularly assessing the predictive value of adiponectin for the development of cardiovascular events and mortality in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients. They assessed a total of 1,641 patients with ACS. Per findings, ACS patients exhibit increased cardiovascular events and all-cause mortality in correlation with higher adiponectin levels. The predictive value of adiponectin levels might be limited in women, patients aged < 65 years, and patients with BMI ≥ 25 kg/m 2.
