Head & Neck Feb 14, 2020
Bao X, Liu F, Chen Q, et al. - In this prospective study, researchers examined the impact of smoking and drinking on survival of patients with oral cancer by contrasting the features and survival of patients with nonsmoking and nondrinking (NSND) vs patients with smoking and/or drinking (SD). This prospective study including 1165 patients with oral cancer was conducted in Fujian, China from January 2005 to January 2019. Participants in the study were 1,165 patients with oral cancer. Data reported that NSND patients accounted for 55.45% of all oral cancer patients. According to findings, NSND patients' social and clinical features varied from oral cancer patients with SD. Oral cancer patients with SD have higher all-cause mortality and oral cancer-specific mortality than patients with NSND.
