Prolonged P-wave duration in sinus rhythm pre-ablation is associated with atrial fibrillation recurrence after pulmonary vein isolation: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology Apr 19, 2019
Pranata R, et al. - By analyzing 12 cohort studies with 1,482 patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) post-pulmonary vein isolation (PVI), researchers evaluated latest evidence on the link between prolonged P-wave duration (PWD) in sinus rhythm pre-ablation and AF recurrence post-PVI. They included those cohort studies in this meta-analysis that evaluated prolonged PWD on ECG during sinus rhythm pre-ablation as well as its relation to AF recurrence in post-PVI patients. Irrespective of age, gender, left atrial size, and the presence of structural heart disease, AF recurrence post-PVI may be seen in relation to prolonged PWD with a cutoff of >120 ms to >150 ms in sinus rhythm before ablation.
