Prognostic value of pulmonary blood volume by first-pass contrast-enhanced CMR in heart failure outpatients: The PROVE-HF study

European Heart Journal – Cardiovascular Imaging Oct 22, 2017

Ricci F, et al. - In a cohort of outpatients with chronic heart failure (HF), researchers determined the prognostic value of pulmonary blood volume (PBV). Findings demonstrated that PBV index (PBVI) showed potential usefulness for quantitative determination of haemodynamic congestion as a surrogate marker of left ventricular diastolic dysfunction. For prognosis stratification of asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic patients with left ventricular dysfunction, PBVI might prove to be helpful.
