Prognostic value of plasma MR-proADM vs NT-proBNP for heart failure in people with type 2 diabetes: The SURDIAGENE prospective study
Diabetologia - Clinical and Experimental Diabetes and Metabolism Dec 01, 2018
Fraty M, et al. - In this investigation, researchers compared the prognostic value of N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP for the occurrence of congestive heart failure with that of plasma mid-region pro-adrenomedullin (MR-proADM) among individuals with type 2 diabetes. They measured plasma MR-proADM concentration in baseline samples of a hospital-based cohort of consecutively recruited participants with type 2 diabetes. There were 1,438 participants. Findings revealed that MR-proADM is a prognostic biomarker for heart failure in people with type 2 diabetes but provides no significant complementary information on heart failure prediction vs NT-proBNP.
