Prognostic value of NEK2 overexpression in digestive system cancers: A meta-analysis and systematic review
OncoTargets and Therapy Oct 25, 2018
Ren Q, et al. - In digestive system cancers (DSCs), researchers conducted a meta-analysis to broadly evaluate the prognostic value of NEK2 expression, Using PubMed, EMBASE, and Web of Science, they performed a comprehensive literature search. Findings suggested a probability of NEK2 to act as a useful predictor and a potential therapeutic target in DSCs. In patients with hepatocellular carcinoma and colorectal cancer, an association of elevated NEK2 expression with poorer overall survival was seen on subgroup analysis. Moreover, they noted an association of NEK2 overexpression with pretreatment serum AFP level and portal vein thrombosis in hepatocellular carcinoma.
