Prognostic role of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio in unresectable hepatocellular cancer patients treated with trans-arterial chemoembolization
Translational Cancer Research Sep 07, 2018
Xu W, et al. - In survival outcomes of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients receiving trans-arterial chemoembolization (TACE) by systematical review of the present literature, authors ascertained the prognostic value of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). In patients with unresectable HCC undergoing TACE, NLR harbored its important value in prognostic prediction as a convenient, inexpensive and easily available inflammatory biomarker. Findings did not suggest an association of the NLR change trend between pre-and post-TACE with either tumor response to TACE or hepatic progression, whereas its prognostic role with overall survival (OS) was also controversial.
