British Journal of Ophthalmology Jul 04, 2018
Lucas JT, et al. - Authors tested the presumption that prior focal therapy does not compromise the effectiveness of delayed episcleral plaque brachytherapy (epBRT) in retinoblastoma. The time to enucleation or treatment failure did not decrease with the use of non-irradiative focal therapies prior to or following epBRT. The increased risk for treatment failure was predicted by the lack of prior diode or green laser therapy. For decreased time to enucleation, International Classification group C or D was predictive.
