Prevalence of resolved paracentral acute middle maculopathy lesions in fellow eyes of patients with unilateral retinal vein occlusion
Acta Ophthalmologica Jul 31, 2019
Maltsev DS, et al. - In this case-control observational study, researchers examined the prevalence of resolved paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) lesions in fellow eyes of patients with unilateral retinal vein occlusion (RVO) and eyes of healthy people. This investigation took place in a referral university medical centre. Participants in the study were 45 patients with branch RVO, 21 patients with central RVO and 57 healthy people. According to findings, resolved PAMM lesions defined as thinning of the inner nuclear layer associated with elevation of the outer plexiform layer are highly prevalent in patients with unilateral RVO fellow eyes. Resolved lesions of PAMM may be associated with RVO.
