Prevalence and predictive value of high-positive rheumatoid factor and anti-citrullinated protein antibody levels in nonarthritic patients with chronic hepatitis C infection
International Journal of Rheumatic Diseases Dec 09, 2018
Lin KM, et al. - Experts gauged the high-positive rheumatoid factor (RF) and anti-citrullinated protein antibody (ACPA) levels in nonarthritic patients with chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Findings did not suggest an increase in the ACPA in HCV infection, in contrast to RF. In nonarthritic patients with chronic HCV infection, presence of high-positive RF is not unusually noted. Results demonstrated the probability of ACPA to have improved value for the diagnosis of RA in this patient population. Fatty liver may be a risk factor for high-positive RF in patients with HCV infection.
