Offodile AC, et al. - Researchers here aimed at determining the cost-effectiveness of preoperative paravertebral blocks (PPVBs) at common willingness-to-pay (WTP) thresholds. Over a broad range of probabilities, PPVB in mastectomy seemed reducing postoperative pain at an acceptable incremental cost compared to general anesthesia (GA). They recommend convincing commercial payers to reimburse this technique based on convincing evidence of cost-effectiveness.
