Predictors of visual acuity outcomes following vitrectomy for idiopathic macular hole
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Aug 24, 2018
Amram AL, et al. - In a retrospective, noncomparative, consecutive case series of 132 eyes of 122 patients who underwent surgical repair of an idiopathic full-thickness macular hole (FTMH) with at least 1 year of follow-up, authors gauged the predictors of visual outcomes. They analyzed the predictors of visual acuity (VA) outcomes using linear regression. Findings suggested the mean follow-up time to be 22.2 months. Significant predictors of final VA following FTMH repair were poor preoperative VA, perioperative complications, AMD, and delay to surgery. These variables remained significant in multiple regression.
