Predictors of allocation to surgery in patients older than 50 years with partial-thickness rotator cuff tear
Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery Mar 22, 2019
Camurcu Y, et al. - A total of 202 candidates were quantified to study the prognosticating factors for allocation to surgery in candidates of age more than 50 years with symptomatic chronic partial-thickness rotator cuff tear (PTRCT). They noted the tear side and Ellman classification, subacromial spur, and acromiohumeral intervals. They found a significantly higher mean age and functional comorbidity index values in group I (no-surgery group) when compared to group II (surgery group). Bursal-sided tears were more frequently observed in group II. They suggested tear side and functional comorbidity index as the major predictors of allocation to surgery.
