Predictive value of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography features in assessment of visual prognosis in eyes with acute welding arc maculopathy

Zhang C, et al. - Authors observed spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) features and ascertained if baseline OCT features could be used as predictors of visual acuity outcome in eyes with acute welding arc maculopathy.
As per the findings, in acute welding arc maculopathy, morphological changes in outer retinal layer were clearly seen through SD-OCT images. The strongest predictors of final BCVA were the baseline best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and length of ellipsoid zone (EZ) defects.
