Prediction of long-term net clinical outcomes using the TIMI-AF score: Comparison with CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED
American Heart Journal Nov 16, 2017
Rivera-Caravaca JM, et al. - The TIMI-AF score was described to predict net clinical outcomes (NCOs) in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients receiving warfarin. In a Âreal world cohort of anticoagulated AF patients, the TIMI-AF score was compared with CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED with respect to long-term predictive performance. Findings demonstrated limited usefulness of the TIMI-AF score in predicting NCOs over a long-term period of follow-up in VKA-experienced AF patients. As a tool to identify Âlow risk AF patients, this novel score was not found to be superior to CHA2DS2-VASc and HAS-BLED.
