Pre-operative factors correlated with arthroscopic reparability of large-to-massive rotator cuff tears
BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders Mar 22, 2019
Kuptniratsaikul V, et al. - A sum of 66 candidates were evaluated to research over pre-operative factors correlated with reparability of the large-sized and massive rotator cuff tears. They defined 11 large-sized rotator cuff tears and 55 massive rotator cuff tears from MRI whereas 54 subjects in the complete repair group and 12 cases in the partial repair group. They found an association of reparability with age, mediolateral (ML) and anteroposterior (AP) tear size, rotator cuff arthropathy, superior migration of humeral head, fatty infiltration and atrophy of the supraspinatus muscle, and fatty infiltration of infraspinatus muscle. Whereas age, acromiohumeral interval, and anteroposterior tear size were statistically correlated with the reparability in multivariate regression analysis.
