Postimplantation ventricular ectopic burden and clinical outcomes in cardiac resynchronization therapy-defibrillator patients: A MADIT-CRT substudy
Annals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology Sep 23, 2017
Ruwald AC, et al. - This study assessed the link between post-cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) implantation ectopic burden and subsequent risk of clinical outcomes. A high ectopic burden versus low burden at 12-month follow-up in CRT-D patients with mild heart failure was found to be associated with a high 3-year risk of heart failure (HF)/death and ventricular tachyarrhythmias (VT/VF) and threefold increased risk. As per observations, ectopic burden at 12 months may be a valuable approach for assessing long-term prognosis.
