Population screening and intervention for vascular disease in Danish men (VIVA): A randomised controlled trial
The Lancet Sep 18, 2017
Lindholt JS, et al. - The impact of screening and subsequent intervention for abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and hypertension combined was investigated in this trial. The previously unseen, reduction of mortality risk was brought to light from the abdominal aortic aneurysm, peripheral arterial disease, and hypertension in the population screening literature. It could be associated primarily with the initiation of pharmacological therapy. Health policy makers were recommended to take into account the implementation of combined screening whether no screening or isolated abdominal aortic aneurysm screening was presently offered.
