Piloting a programme tool to evaluate malaria case investigation and reactive case detection activities: Results from 3 settings in the Asia Pacific
Malaria Journal Sep 04, 2017
Cotter C, et al. – Researchers here developed a simple programme tool for monitoring and evaluating (M&E) reactive case detection (RACD) activities and piloted by national malaria programmes. Implementation of the RACD M&E tool in the three pilot areas resulted in the identification of key gaps that led to impacts on programme decision making. Findings supported the necessity for routine M&E of malaria case reporting, case investigation and RACD activities. To improve programme performance to the high level, they suggest scaling–up of the RACD M&E tool in malaria–eliminating settings, this seemed necessary to reach elimination.
